I think there’re three pictures every Southamerica traveller has to own: one picture on the salt lake in Bolivia, one picture in front of Machu Picchu in Peru and one picture while you’re swinging over the cloud forest in Ecuador. I’m looking forward to this swing since I saw a photo of it for the first time years ago.
The giant swing is part of a tree house and gives you a breathtaking view over the forest. When you’re lucky and the sky is clear you can even enjoy a view over the volcano. We weren’t but swinging into a cloudy sky, 2600 meters above sea level, is something special nonetheless.
To be honest the swing was too heavy to fly above the clouds and it was a short pleasure as well, but I have my picture. And it’s a great one, isn’t it?
