Have you heard about the Germans-and-their-lookouts cliché? When I travelled through Southeastasia someone told me once, that Germans are obsessed with lookouts. First thing they do when arriving to a new place is searching for the best lookout.
A cliché that is somehow true. I love lookouts and viewpoints and I love to get a little overview when I first arrive to a new location. When it’s possible to combine the lookout with a little hike (what is mostly the case) it’s even better.
And so I walked up the hill San Bernardo instead of taking the cable car to the top. You enjoy the view even more, when you have the feeling it’s well deserved. And to be honest, the view over Salta itself wasn’t that spectacular, the little walk was the adventure actually.
