#day93 – golden milk before going to bed

Forget about Matcha Latte, guys. Last time I had a Matcha tea, I felt like puking afterwards. Seriously, I thought there’s nothing I can’t stomach. Now I know there’s one thing. Matcha Tea. Not a problem at all. Matcha Latte is so yesterday anyway. The newest shit is Golen Turmeric Milk. I mean, a drink that’s named something with golden, how wicked is that?

Since my sore throat is getting worse, I needed a remedie to strengthen my immune system today. Golden Milk helps to reduce inflammation, joint pain and boosts the immune system. Besides it supports a good sleep. Perfect.

Ok, I didn’t add something to sweeten it, so the taste was between “at least it’s golden” and “what did I wrong”. But hey, it makes me beautiful!

Here’s the recipe. You’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 100 ml water
  • grated nutmeg
  • grated ginger
  • 350 ml plant based milk, oat milk for example
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • cinnamon
  • black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  1. Make the turmeric paste by mixing turmeric and water in a pot. Heat it up under consistent stiring. It turns into a paste after a while. Add some grated nutmeg and fresh grated ginger.
  2. Add the milk (I love oat milk) and coconut oil and stir it well.
  3. Bring it to the boil and spice it with a bit cinnamon and black pepper. Let it simmer for five minutes.

I did it the professional way, but it works as well without making the turmeric paste. If you’re in a hurry forget the water and mix all the other ingredients in a pot, bring it to the boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
